The launch of Aptos’ mainnet has generated a lot of excitement in the crypto community. The Layer 1 chain has raised more than $350 million in funding in two rounds. This gives it plenty of opportunity to grow and create a high-quality platform. This is exactly what the team did, and it has some impressive features. The chain can process 160,000 transactions per second without compromising security. This incredible speed can be attributed to three factors: the Move programming language is flexible, highly customizable and efficient; parallel transaction processing using Block-STM Technology; and the BFT consensus protocol (Byzantine fault Tolerant), which is a popular choice for the new generation L1’s.
Aptos’ key competitors are Solana and Avalanche. All of them have the advantage of spending time growing their ecosystems. Aptos’ four-stage, incentivized testingnet has allowed developers and enthusiasts to see the system and match it to their reality. They have also been able to start building. There are many powerful Dapps on the chain. In this article, we will focus on the top four.

Kana Labs
The Kana Dapp is, in comparison, much more advanced than Petra. The Kana Dapp is cross-chan and was developed to work across Aptos and Solana ecosystems. This is a strong value proposition and the basis of Kana’s features. The Dapp gives users a single dashboard that allows them to access their multiple wallets across multiple blockchains. A user can perform a variety actions, including swapping, staking and various lend/borrow protocol. Chain interoperability makes it possible to swap across multiple chains instead of using token collateral or issuing alternate tokens. This speeds up the process and makes it easier to transact. You can also create multiple wallets (non custodial), collect NFTs and participate in yield generation vaults. If you wish, you can also access the platform via a web extension. Although this Dapp has a lot of features, it is still powerful enough to provide multi-chain functionality.

Rise
This list’s Dapps tend to be either lightweight wallets or “do it all” platforms. Rise, however, is focused on one thing: Being a great wallet. Although it doesn’t attempt to do everything, Rise does offer a vast array of subtle features that help make the wallet experience richer and more intuitive. It was evident that a lot of user research was done to find and fix problems in a typical wallet experience. The list of user-focused features includes: creating a profile photo from one of your NFTs, finding Aptos addresses through searching someone’s Aptos username, and verifying via their profile pic. There are 15 languages supported. A custom auto lock timer can be set to remind you when a password is required again. A “send” button has a dropdown that displays your token list. You can also customize notifications. There are filters to adjust gas prices, maximum gas limits, and the transaction timeout trigger. The platform is a web extension and app that allows users to send/receive tokens and swap NFT collections.

Martian
Martian is another non custodial wallet. It focuses on secure, lightweight transactions and fast transactions. Dapps is the “most trusted wallet” of Aptos. It is currently set up as an extension for your web browser and has an IOS app in development. The Martian’s features include buying, storing and sending tokens, as well as swapping tokens, collecting, managing, minting and managing NFTs. You can also earn rewards and stake APT. Web3 notifications are available directly in the Dapp. Although the features are not very extensive, the wallet’s documentation is geared towards developers and provides detailed guidance on how to integrate the wallet into Aptos Dapps.

Pontem Network
The Pontem Network, another Dapp, is the last. It aims to provide both developers and users with a wide range of features. The Pontem wallet is fairly basic, offering buy/sell/send/receive/swap features, NFT storing/buy/sell/minting, and APT staking. The Dapp also features its Liquidswap DeX, which is claimed to be the first AMM available for Aptos. Pontem, like many others on this list is currently available as a web extension. IOS and Android app plans are in development. This platform’s main feature is its support for the Aptos ecosystem. It provides developers with critical tools that allow them to learn, test and integrate Aptos Move. It includes the Move Code Playground, which is an editor and sandbox that allows you to integrate Move (and Aptos) into your development projects. The Intellij Move IDE is helpful for integrating Move and Aptos into your development projects. The Move VM Transpiler speeds up the translation from Solidity through a bytecode translator. Pontem is a great option for projects that want to develop on Aptos.
Summarising
The Aptos Ecosystem is a big deal. Users and teams will flock to it in the coming months. Although the chain is still new, it has a strong foundation of Dapps, who are experts in blockchain and have tested products across the crypto universe. They are excited to set up shop on the chain that was built on the shoulders giants.
